You are responsible for making sure your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is always valid.
If your policy expires while you are studying in Australia on a student visa, you won’t be able to claim your medical costs for any treatment while you are uninsured. It is a Student Visa requirement that OSHC must be continuous for the term of your Student Visa. If you allow your OSHC to lapse whilst on a Student Visa, and you wish to renew your OSHC, you must pay the premiums for the lapsed period.
To renew a lapsed policy contact us.
Are you extending your study?
If you are considering extending your existing student visa or applying for a new one, you will need to purchase an OSHC policy for the extended period before you apply for your visa.
Once you have purchased an OSHC policy for the extended period, we will provide you with a certificate to submit with your visa application.
You can also buy more cover by logging on to the Allianz MyHealth App or MyHealth Portal. For instructions on how to buy more cover, read our MyHealth Guide.
